Perspectives on a walk-about 56/365

Loving these two images taken by ch'n from room 1 or 22.
We went on a Friday arvo walk-about to take images of 'the world at our feet' - we had used inspiration from a Japanese workshop and a video.

These two images stood [excuse the pun] out from the rest with their viewpoints and perspectives.

national testing 55/365

the state of things to come - instead of quality teaching......national testing....where children are pressured and stressed and do not perform to their potential because tests such as maths PAT also test your reading skill NOT just your maths prowess! Roll out more national tests and comparisons I say.....NOT!!!

Trusted and over capacity 54/365

In the wake of such devastation in CH/CH it is no wonder that the reputable sites for donating money are over capacity! Thank goodness for kind hearted kiwis - will try again tomorrow. Watch out for scammers - there a re few already, will keep trying with the trusted!

Patterns galore 48/365

Amazingly fun [not exactly a photo] but beauty created with geometric lines and shapes - lots of fun and kinda therapeutic also! Discovering effects of geometric shapes and comparisons with lines and colours.
With classes probably have 'free time' followed by a piece of art using only 3-5 of the patterns.

Art patterns http://bomomo.com/ discovered thanks to Mrs Fennemore

Fabulous Fun with Photographing students 41/365

Two rooms trogged off for a local walk-about armed with multiple cameras and copious amounts of spare batteries.
Our students [aged 7 and 8 years old] took ALL the photographs after learning about Line, Light, Colour and People as well as the rule of thirds and using different angles to look at the things.
In a short space of time they had taken some quite impressive shots. Here are some of the afternoons BEST shots, some of the others can be seen here: Muriwai Summerland

This one is my favourite of the day by Hirad - awesome angle!

Super Art 40/365

I was happy when I got chosen to be in art class. I was dancing on the way to class. Enjoying  the day of art in class. I was painting a big picture, we drew a pattens of Matisse. We drew some flower patterns and circle patterns. We worked together with Wakeen. My best bit was the painting, it was fun because I loved the colours.

practicing the rule of thirds 39/365

Yesterday we were learning about taking pictures. We were supposed to bring in something that makes us happy. I bring in my toy donkey. I was going to take a picture of it. I was learning about the rule of thirds. I had to use contrasting colours. I used angles too. I had to decide to what places were dark, because my donkey is grey and if I chose a grey background he would be camouflaged. I put the donkey on the left to fit the rule of thirds. Look at my photo

A whole pile of interesting wotsits 36/365

My first [and possibly last] foray into the world of Car boot sales - what a fascinating phenomenon! The people....totally fascinating to watch and wonder why they purchase that which to all intents and purposes is 'junk'. A most amazing place for people watching and catching up with some awesome mates who are 'old hats' at this and know how to 'play the game'!

This was the shot of the day with the old codger carrying a dolly by it's head around the sales...perusing everything!

Dig the piles of 'junk' and the tattooed chick surveying the wares!

Shadows 32/365

Just loved the way the fence made this awesome shadow on the newly cut grass.
If I had more time I would put it in Aperture and deal to the wash out on right....no time for such shannigans when ch'n back in school tomorrow!
